Creative Advertising & Key Art

Discover Designbox’s strength in capturing IP branding in the form of first-look Key Art, well in advance of filming or real footage. The fine art of creating something great, when you have nothing at all.

Brand Marketing

Need a spot on Presentation or Pitch Deck for your upcoming IP? Do you need to dust off a stack of catalog titles to sell to a local streamer half way around the world? You’ve come to the right place.

Global Promotions

The perfect Brand Partnership sandwich is a unique blend of two Brands that let each other’s flavor shine through in a consistently crowded blockbuster marketplace. All that and a bag of chips.

Consumer Products

You name a product category, and we’ve designed for it. Bobble-heads to baby bottles, t-shirts to pattern skirts, action figures, lunch boxes, video games, board games and toys of every kind. Style guides to product mockups, packaging design to product design. We’ve done it all.

Illustration & Character Art

From pencil sketch to digital rendering. We’ve assembled a team of some of the best character artists in the world. No joke.

Media & Digital Design

We’ve designed some excellent DVD packaging in our time. Sure, we’ve produced hundreds of assets for streaming platforms, but nothing beats a Bender head in a box.

Trade Shows & Retail

We like seeing our work on and above the shelves at Target and Walmart, but there’s nothing more exciting than seeing your graphics on a huge tent on the beach in Cannes. MIPCOM, ATF, NAPTE and more. We’ve been around the world a few times.

Corporate Initiatives

We’ve developed dozens of presentations for every level of executive, B2B and consumer facing. Don’t stress over the presentation outline. We help you organize your thoughts and look good on game day.

Shawn Kuhne

Born and raised on the East Coast, I left New Jersey after earning a BFA in Illustration from RISD and headed for Hollywood—originally wanting to draw comic books, that dream evolved into designing movie marketing materials and licensed products, for, well, comic books.

I got my start in L.A. creating art for Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse, which conveniently led to doing the same thing at Disney (but with a Park Pass). After a magical run at the Mouse House, I swapped ears for edge and joined 20th Century Fox, designing for brands like The Simpsons, The X-Files, Alien, Predator and Planet of the Apes.

In 2001, my partner (and wife) Laura Jamét and I launched DESIGNBOX. Twenty-five years later, I’m still lucky enough to call comic books and pop culture “work.” Turns out, my inner nerd has great job security. Click through and check out what we’ve been up to. Enjoy.
